A couple, Thorne Melcher and Mandy Musselwhite, living in Atlanta raising geese and ducks, were recently having difficulties covering their monthly mortgage payments. This happened after one of them became unemployed. This cause their house to become due for foreclosure.

So, what did they do?

To save themselves from the situation, the couple created together an NFT collection. Guess what the collection is about. You got that right, ducks and they called it Dastardly Ducks. The latter is a collection of 10,000 cartoon ducks having more than 100 different traits and features. What was surprising for them is that the collection sold out in not more than 6 hours raising a whopping $120,000 for the couple. Dastardly Ducks’ Twitter account is now with a written bio that says, “all hatched in under 6 hours. You helped save a smol duck farm."

Who are these people?

Well, turns out that Musselwhite is already an artist who crafts artworks and sells them from time to time and Melcher used to be a software engineer so is good at coding. However, this was their first time tapping into the NFT craze. Good thing they did as they were able to save their home and also realize that they have the skills to be NFT artists! The couple also stated that there is more artworks to come and this won’t be their only collection!
